Thimaya has directed many documentary films and also numerous business films. Recently he has completed the biography of the most respected seer of Karnataka Sri Sri Dr. Shivakumara Swamiji of Siddaganga Mutt, Tumkur. The one hour long biographical film has been made in English and in Kannada. The film has been premiered on tv to much acclaim.

Deepak Thimaya is currently working on two teleserial projects. One, a thirteen part teleseries on the life of Sri Sri Dr. Shivakumara Swamiji and the second, a comedy series based on learning Kannada language by non Kannadigas. Both the shows are expected be on air from August 2009.

Music

His interest in music has not only got him to make a sincere attempt at singing but also to work for a music album of songs in praise of the revered saint of Siddganga called Gaana Gange. He is currently working on another music album. He has also been commissioned to make music videos for a few love songs sung by a popular Bollywood singer.

Sanjeevini

He is the concept creator and director of the show. He is also the principal writer for medical content. Sanjeevini is the only health show on Udaya TV. The weekend show has successfully completed close to 4 years of telecast and is lauded as the most viewed and credible health show on Kannada tv. Sanjeevi is attempting to teleccast reality medical footage in infotainment format in its future episodes.
