Deepak Thimaya is a well-known television personality with more than fifteen years of experience in the medium. Starting his association with tv in 1993 as an actor in Kannada tele-serials, he moved on to become a presenter, anchor, host, quizmaster, and now, an established and respected interviewer on television.
His 'Jedara Bale', the only political interview on Udaya TV, is a very popular program in which he has questioned every important politician worth his name, and associated with the state of Karnataka. This has attracted a lot of critical acclaim for Thimaya’s unique interviewing style and skills.
His English talk show 'Time to Talk' on Udaya News Channel is recognized as the only mainstream English interview across bands on tv in South India. Time to Talk has been successfully running for more than five years and Thimaya has had hundreds of guests baring their hearts out and recounting their successes, on the show. He has interviewed personalities from various streams of public life like BJP leader Arun Jaitley, maverick politician Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Congress party leader S. M. Krishna, former Prime Minister H. D. Deepak Thimaya is also well-known in the area of teacher education and has made a name for himself as an educationist. He has established a unique school Prathama, in Bangalore, where the emphasis is on imparting the basics of knowledge in the process of education.
Thimaya has worked as a columnist for Mid-day Bangalore, and as an interview-columnist with Vijaya Karnataka, the largest Kannada daily with the popular ‘Nera-nera’.

As a script writer and voice over he has been involved in the making of hundreds of informational documentary films.
He tried his talent at performing as a quiz master in the first ever quiz show on Udaya TV called Explore, which was also produced and directed by him. His quizzing talents were put to use on Udaya TV with him conducting over hundred episodes of live quiz show of one hour each, called Quiz Time on Udaya TV. He was successful as the anchor for one season of the quiz based game show Master Genius of Karnataka.
Thimaya was engaged as a cricket analyst by SFM 93.5 FM station, in a show called Cricket Guru during the 2007 Cricket World Cup.
He is a rare personality who has dabbled his fingers in almost every stream of mass media including radio and films. Having started his creative life as a stage actor, his irrepressible interest in theatre and acting prompted him to start The Academy for Child Theatre (The ACT), in 1992.

Currently he is working on three more bio pics. He has also worked as the creative director for a few musical projects.
